MOSAIC
MOSAIC is: A Deeply Affirming Learning Community at Innovation
Located on 50 acres at Twin Lakes YMCA, Mosaic is a full day, small group learning community intentionally designed for high-functioning autistic, 2e, and other neuro divergent Innovators who thrive with greater structure, lower social load, and explicit executive functioning support.
Many Mosaic learners are deeply creative system thinkers, pattern recognizers, big-picture analyzers, and passionate experts in their areas of interest. They may experience overwhelm in larger group settings, struggle with task initiation, or benefit from more intentional support navigating social dynamics. Mosaic provides a quieter, more regulated academic environment where wiring is mirrored, understood, deeply and affirmed.
Mosaic runs September through May and serves up to 15 learners with a 1:5 Guide to Innovator ratio. Our Guides are AuDHD-trained and specialized in neurodivergent learning profiles. This is not a therapeutic or 1:1 support program. Rather, it is a neuro affirming academic community where learners complete meaningful, interest based projects while building executive functioning skills and social tools within a supportive cohort.
Mosaic learners participate in the broader Innovation community and also receive 2–3 hours daily of dedicated Mosaic programming in small groups. Sensory tools, visual schedules, scaffolding, low stimulation workspaces, and predictable rhythms are embedded into the day to promote confidence, independence, and completion.
This is not simply Innovation with extra reminders. Mosaic is intentionally structured differently; calmer, more contained, and purposefully affirming.
Our goal is long-term belonging, both within the Mosaic cohort and within Innovation as a whole.

How Mosaic Is Differentiated: While Mosaic learners remain part of the broader Innovation community, approximately 2–3 hours of each day are dedicated to Mosaic-specific programming. During this time, learners work in small groups on project-based academics designed around their shared interests and individual growth areas.
Daily Mosaic structure includes:
-
Emotional regulation
-
Explicit social skills coaching tailored to neuro divergent communication styles
-
Executive functioning support (task breakdown, time blocking, body doubling, completion accountability)
-
Scaffolded academic project work aligned with learner interests
-
Intentional regulation breaks and sensory access
The social environment is intentionally moderated to reduce overwhelm while still fostering authentic connection. Learners are surrounded by peers with similar wiring, offering powerful mirroring, a space where differences are deeply understood.
Mosaic is ideal for learners who:
-
Are high-functioning autistic, AuDHD, or otherwise neurodivergent
-
Are fully independent in toileting and personal care
-
Do not require 1:1 support
-
Are safe in community settings
-
Want to complete meaningful academic work within a small, affirming group
-
Benefit from visual supports, structure, and sensory accommodations
-
Desire community with peers who think and process similarly
Mosaic is not equipped to support aggressive or unsafe behaviors, and we are happy to provide referrals for families seeking higher levels of therapeutic support.
What a Mosaic Day Looks Like: Mosaic follows a predictable, steady rhythm designed to reduce overwhelm while building confidence and connection.
9:30–10:00 | Arrival & Soft Start, Outside or Inside
Learners arrive, regulate, settle into the space, and prepare for the day with visual schedules and low demand connection time.
10:30–12:00 | Mosaic SEL & Project Groups
The day begins intentionally with emotional regulation and social-emotional learning designed specifically for neuro divergent Innovators. From there, learners move into small project groups (2–5 per group), working on interest-based academic projects aligned with their strengths and growth goals. Executive functioning support, scaffolding, and sensory tools are embedded throughout.
12:00 | Outdoor Lunch with Full Innovation Community
Mosaic learners join the broader Innovation group for lunch outdoors on 50 acres of natural space at Twin Lakes YMCA. This provides structured social integration while maintaining access to regulation tools and Guide support.
1:00–2:00 | Mosaic Project Continuation
Focused academic project time continues in small groups, with support for task initiation, completion, and collaboration.
2:00–3:00 | Outdoor Community Time
The day closes outdoors with the full Innovation community. This provides movement, nature immersion, and social connection within a supported environment.
